Lynda/USVI info

Okay, we may take two trips this winter if things go well, Vegas and somewhere tropical that doesn't require a passport (yes?) like St. Thomas. So, tips? Good time to go, good place to stay, good things to do? Other insider info?

Re: Lynda/USVI info

  • I hear Baltimore is also a really fun place to visit in the winter.

  • It's a great time of year,  but it's the expense time also.   If possible stay away from MLK and President's day weekends.  Next to xmas/NYE it's the peak of peak season.  Tons of people so things are crowded.Places to stay... it depends on your budget.  Larger budgets consider Caneel Bay or The Westin in St John.  Or the Ritz in St Thomas.Mid-to high consider Marriott or Wyndam.Mid or lower consider Secret Harbour, Sapphire Village or guest homes.  I suggest to google some lodging options and then email me at lyndausvi at yahoo and I can give you more information. There is a ton do to in the VI.  Scuba, snorkel, hiking, shopping and my favorite not a damm thing but lay on the beach and read.Too bad you do not have a passport.  A day trip to the BVI is a great way to spend a day.

  • Awesome, will do. I have a passport, but it's expired and I don't want to renew it before the wedding only to have the name changed a few months later. How high is the higher end hotels?
  • that time of year $500 and up per night.

  • check online with some of the hotels.  Sometimes they have package deals.
