Yep, FI cousin, we found out a few days after the wedding.  They split up for awhile, then got a divorce I think.  The dad died a few months later.  The couple was always on/off again, so we figure the marriage was more for dad to have a chance to walk his daughter down the aisle than for a real marriage.Also, they went barhopping for 2 hours before coming to the reception so we could all eat.  By then we were all drunk and starving.Blueprint for a what-not-to-do wedding.

Oooh, Mocha reminded me of one! At a wedding, B&G are about to be toasted by MOH. So, DJ directs everyone's attention to the lovely B&G...as you hear one of the BM's puking. At the head table. In a keg cup. And then sitting it down to pay attention to the toasts. Cuz, you know, otherwise she'd be rude. (It's not wrong for me to be afraid of her sitting at my dinner table, right?)

this doesn't top anything... but myself and 15 of my closest friend did have  the police chase us around a hotel one night after the wedding because we got caught skinny dipping in the hotel pool. Yeah then we decided to go back to my hotel room and do body shots (or at least that is what I was told). This was the first public event H and I really went to together too. He was pretty shocked.

it did suck...well it more blew.  I pulled up my pants, yelled "wrong apartment!" and ran out.  The people on the couch never said a word, though I'm sure they started locking their door after that.

I came home from a party once to find a random drunk guy sleeping on my porch.I also had a friend in college that we "lost" one time.  Finally got a hold of him the next day, drunk and passed on on some random person's couch without his shoes.  He had walked into this person's house, thinking it was a friend's house.  We never did find his shoes.And Meaghan and Mocha, those stories are awful!

Yeah, makes me wonder what I'm marrying into some days.  lol  Unfortunately, stories like that aren't real uncommon, though they're usually not nearly that bad.

tide, I don't know a lot of the details. My dad told H about it, my mom never said anything to us about it because she didn't want us to worry.

Nicole - my dad was married for 10 days last year.  Yep.  10 days.  He dated this a couple years ago, and they broke up because they weren't at the "same place in their lives."  In Feb, she called him out of the blue saying she wanted to try dating again; she had gotten her life together, blah blah.  So, they dated for a few months.  He proposed in April (around Easter) she moved in around June and they got married in July.  About a week before the wedding, she did a total 180 - biitch was crazy (so says my sister who lives with my dad).  Anyway, there were a lot of things that went wrong leading up to the wedding, which got cancelled for logistical reasons.  My dad asked for my advice, and I told him "you only need the couple, an officiant and a witness to get married" so they JOPed it.  Apparently on the honeymoon, things got worse; the final straw was that she was upset because he ONLY had an $80,000 life insurance policy.  Yeah.  She left 10 days after the marriage started - I think by then my dad was about $15000 in debt.  Then she tried to get my dad to admit to fraud (probably so she could get more money from him).  When he didn't do that she claimed fear for her life as her reason for leaving.  And then when that didn't work, she came crying back to him and wanted to "give it another shot."  The divorce was finalized in Oct/Nov.  She emailed him the next week to tell him that she was getting remarried in FEB.  Crazy.  Golddigging.  Biitch.  I'm just glad my dad got out of that relationship.

Holy cow. Definitely some crazy people out there. I said my uncle dodged a bullet with that woman, literally. Pretty crazy to think about.

Yeah my cousin is married to the man that shot and killed her brother. They are perfectly happy, super nice people. He didn't maliciously murder the guy, it was more self defense. Big brother didn't want dudeman with his sister, and tried to break down the door to get in. Dudeman grabbed the nearest thing to defend himself and there ya have it. But yeah, been married for like 12 years.
