At a loss...I need help BIG TIME!

I already booked my venue with the hopes of having a wintery wedding with lots of sparkle and candles.  We're getting married in the evening and our venue is in a clubhouse which reminds us of a cabin.  We had all these wonderful ideas using candles to give us the warm wintery feeling we wanted.  Well the venue changed their policy since we signed our contract and we are no longer allowed to have candles.  I hate the look of LED candles as i feel like they dont give the same vibe.  Our wedding is in Feb and now im at a complete loss as to what to do especially for our centerpieces.  I am looking for any and all ideas at this point.  I am sooo disappointed   I am posting a link to a picture of the venue in the snow so maybe you can all get the vibe i did when i seen this place.  Thanks everyone http://tinyurl.com/yhfn5cf

Nope no candles whatsoever.  There is a fireplace which we can use but we aren't allowed to have open flame.  I don't get it.  I put a link to a somewhat crappy picture of the inside.  Basically it's an empty building so i have to rent everything including linens, tables, chairs you name it i rented it.  We're having a small wedding so it's not a huge place.   http://tinyurl.com/ykcno35

that is truly a beautiful place. Sorry to hear that they changed their policy. Does it say in your contract that you can have candles cause you could maybe fight that. don't know if that would work.

What about twinkle lights on the walls, or led lights in lanterns on the tables?

I was at a ceremony that had glass blocks (almost looked like ice blocks that would make an igloo) that had white lights running through the inside of the blocks. Not sure how they did it, but very cool looking. The lights appeared to have a candle-ish glow through the glass.  They had a few blocks surrounding each of the centerpieces.

I guess if i had a bio it might help if you all seen my other ideas.  we are going for a wintery look with ice blue, white and silver.  If i had a clue how to make a bio I would do it...let me see if i can throw on a few images of what we're going with.  Thanks for all your ideas

Does anyone have a picture of this? Of the glass blocks? I don't think I do...I will ask my Mom. I think she takes pictures of centerpieces everywhere she goes! If I can get one, I will post it fo  you.I just googled wedding centerpieces, lights in glass blocks. You have to weed through the images, but there are some in there.

If the venue changed it after you signed the contract, you should be able to fight it. Try talking to the event manager on the site. Legally, I doubt that you have an argument unless your contract specifically stated that you could have candles, but maybe he/she would be understanding. Worth a try, anyway!

You can get twinkle lights powered by batteries, and I've seen them with 10-25 lights per string.  That may provide the lighting effect you want.  I love the pinecone and the glass block ideas.  I'm sure you find something perfect.  Best wishes.

Go to glimmersinc.com the have sparkly battery operate lights that "shimmer". I've been thinking of using these inside my centrepieces for that extra sparkle- oh and that's where I think you can buy those ice blocks with lights in them.Good luck!

I think you are misinterpreting them.  No one candles/flames, means no regular pillar candles.  You should be able to use lanterns or candles with glass over them, like mercury candle holders with the glass over them.  I've never heard of not allowing candles period, but most places require them to be closed or covered in some way.

My venue allows absolutely no open flame except for sterno under chafing dishes and only if the caterer is properly licensed and insured. Lots of places do not allow open flame.  Especially historic, city, and state owned venues. I'm going with the battery operated twinkle votives.  i did a mock up and you couldn't tell they weren't real
