What is the rate for an officiate?

Hi - We are getting married in NYC in July and our Rabbi's rate is $1000. I read that the rates are anywhere from $500 - $2500. Is $1000 high or is it about average?

It depends on your needs.  For some reason, Rabbi officiant fees do seem to start at $1000 excluding the synagogue (except for members and in the outer boroughs) in Manhattan.  Maybe this includes cantor services? Celebrants range from $350 to $750. Judges and traditional clergy seem to get between $150 to $350.

I was married by a Cantor and we paid $1,000. Her rate was slightly more, but she accepted $1,000 because that was our budget.

We paid 750$ for a rabbi

She is doing our ceremony at a park though, not at a temple.I dont know if that costs more.

$1000 is pretty normal for a Rabbi from my experience
