**Bec**

I love the pics on fb of the button bouquet.Bec, are the button bouquets in lieu of flower bouquets? Enlighten me. Are you planning on carrying one as well? I included this in the morning thread, but didn't want to threadjack to much.

Re: **Bec**

  • Thanks! I have some pics in my bio too. They are in lieu of flower bouquets. I was going to just run to the farmer's market the morning of my wedding and see what I could put together, but then I found these online, and my grandmother had a ton of antique buttons, so I attempted it. My mother and I sat for hours on Thursday and Sunday making each flower (160 total). The smaller bouquets will have 30, mine will have 55-60, and then I'll do 4 bouts and 5 corsages. I wanted to incorporate black without doing black flowers, and I wanted to use something that belonged to my favorite grandmother, so there you go. I think it's a little unorthodox to have an outside wedding without fresh flowers, but I love them, and I can keep it forever. The best part is that my mom found a crocheted doillie my grandmother made, and she's making one, both of which will be "flowers" in my bouquet. She also gave me the huge glass owl that my grandmother kept all her buttons in. BEST WEDDING GIFT EVER!
  • That is awesome!  I can't wait to see the pictures of your wedding and all the details.  I see all the pieces of the big day coming together and the excitement is building.  You really have captured what unique weddings truly are about without being too theme-y or over-the-top!I'm just so happy for you that things are coming together for you. :)
  • Dear Bec,I'm am uber jealous of your wedding.  The black.  The white.  The buttons.  Everything.  It's all going to be so gorgeous and many things you are doing I totally coveted while planning.  Can I live vicariously through you?Love,Julez
  • I love you girls. Really. I don't know if it's exhaustion, or stress, but I'm crying over here at your kind words. I just hope everything comes together and looks simple, fun and like "us". And I hope it doesn't rain. That's all! :)
  • I hope it doesn't rain for you either!  The rest will all come together on its own.........you've work hard.
  • Another Dear Bec letter- I know I promised you blue pumpkin pics, but I suffered a PMS meltdown last night when FI made 3 scrambled eggs and called it dinner for everyone. Forgive me? -Mandapanda
  • Dear Manda, Of course I forgive you! I have to, as I also suffer from this PMS of which you speak, and made a point to remind FI about my elopement plea for the past year+ yesterday when we figured out our extra tables for the extra 40 guests will take up every square inch of our rented tent, not allowing space for buffet tables, picnic baskets or CAKE. I think my exact words in response to his "We'll figure it out, sweetie." were, "REALLY? When do you propose we figure this out? The day of? In the rain? Can I just say that as cute as you and your parents thought I was when I was begging to elope or, at the very least, keep this to under 90 people, I MAY HAVE HAD A FUCKINGPOINT?!?!" I think I made him upset. Hmmm bygones! So, in short (too late!) I do indeed forgive you, but I'd love to see blue pumpkin pics when you can send them. Love, PMSbec
