stupid laptop

Hey ladies, I am sure nobody has noticed that I have been gone since I don't post really often but my laptop broke and it was only 1 and 1/2 years old so I am pissed. But anywho this is the first time I have been able to get online in like a week. Hopefully I will be able to get a new computer soon but I just wanted to say I have missed the greatness of P&E.

How did it break? Is it still under warranty?

Our laptop at home is my husband's mom;s old work laptop. So probably from 05/06, and it had every Quicken program known to man loaded on it. I had to sit for several hours over the weekend and delete programs so I could upload pics. And this laptop refuses to read my wedding CD's, so they've been collecting dust since I got married.  If we weren't getting a TV for Christmas, I'd be getting a new laptop. I have to wait until my birthday for that.

Cew..Aw Ive missed you too. It is no longer under warranty...it only had a 1. It had a power failure and wont even turn on, I am going to write a very pissed off letter to HP.

What do you mean by power failure? Laptops just need either a battery or an adapter to supply power to the motherboard. If it's a battery or adapter problem, that's an easy fix. If it's a motherboard issue, that'll be a little more expensive to replace but still cheaper than buying a new system.

Actually it is a power failure...I know abattery is a easy fix, but it is not a problem with the battery or adapter. And actually a motherboard failure is not necessarily cheaper than getting a new laptop. Mine is not...I have taken it to be looked at and it is defenitly not worth it to get it fixed...it ,makes just as much sense to buy a new one.

HP laptops are the devil!  I had one and had non-stop trouble with it.  My dad bought it for me at Best Buy and when I brought it in for repairs the 4th time within 2 months of owning it, all of the employees laughed at me for buying it because HP can't make a laptop to save their lives.HP refused to fix it because although they considered it to be a factory defect, it wasn't a big enough problem to warrant a recall.I'm sorry you're having so much trouble.
