Kitty saving.

So...we get home from a bday party on Friday night, and on our front lawn we can see a mayo jar and a black lump. Upon further inspection, we find it's (another) stray cat whose head is stuck in a (plastic) mayo jar. So...Mark runs in to the garage to get our work gloves and his side snips, and I hold on to kitty while Mark snips him free. As soon as kitty is free, he takes off right out of my hands like a bat out of hell! I think it's wild. Mark felt like a hero. Kitty was sitting on our deck yesterday, so we tried to approach it, but it ran of again. In the mean time, we've named it Mayo.

Re: Kitty saving.

  • Aww, Mayo is a cute name :)How did the party go? What did you end up taking for food?

  • ya know, for someone who hates cats so much... ;-) in all honesty, I think it's sweet that you keep rescuing them.  How are you guys doing?

  • Awww.  You guys are awesome with rescuing kittehs! BTW, I lit a candle for you & Mark at church this weekend. Not sure I'm the best delegate, but I gave it a go!

  • Glad the kitty is ok.  But picturing a cat with its head stuck in a mayo jar is making me giggle, now that I know the cat's ok.

  • Tide was right about the underground kitty railroad.I like Mayo :)

  • Um, so I guess Tide was right when she said you're now part of the kitty underground railroad :)
  • Yeah, we thought Mayo was cute, and obviously very fitting. The party was good...it was nice to attempt to take our minds off of things, even though there were several people there that obviously didn't previously know about Mark's condition. I brought the bacon wraps that I forget who posted them, they were delicious! Pigs in a blanket, cheesy bacon ranch dip, and a hot cheese dip.

  • Yes, definitely part of the kitty underground railroad. Where TF are they all coming from?? The only thing we can figure out is this old shack that's kinda right behind our place, that's where they always run to/from, but it's on our neighbour's farm yard property. Mayo is the 4th stray I've seen since my other kitty got eaten.

  • I still think you told all the kittehs about the underground railroad, tide. I blame you. :) Mark was so cute, on Saturday he went out for a short quad ride with the boys, and he told all of them about saving Mayo. You should've seen him run! When we figured out what TF was on our lawn, he bolted across the yard to the garage. I've never seen him move that fast.

  • I take full responsibility :) I can only imagine what that poor cat was thinking.  Ummm.  Yummy mayo.  Wait, I can't get my head out!

  • you should see his head! It's got mayo all over it, and the fur on the top of his head is spikey. It looks scary. Especially because his head is black and his eyes are bright green. Demon kitty.

  • We're definitely the crazy cat people of our neighbourhood. But I definitely like these strays a lot more than the ones that hung around last winter. These ones don't jump on the trucks or cars or use skidoos for scratching posts.

  • I like Tide's equation of kitty karma=cancer cure. And if you took the bacon wrapped around the bread with cream cheese and roasted pepper mixture, you're welcome.
  • I couldn't remember if it was you or mag920 that posted it. They were SO good. So so good. I added sauteed mushrooms to the mix.

  • I'm thinking of doing them with crab meat in them. But my dad couuldn't eat them since he's highly allergic. So that would mean more for me. Hmmm, this has potential.
  • Oh...yum, that would be SO SO good. The men at the party just absolutely devoured them. I found them kinda difficult to cut in to 3 pieces, so most of them I just cut in half. I'll definitely be making them again though!
