Trash the Dress

I'm curious about your thoughts on them. Would you do one? What do you think of them?Personally, I think they can be pretty cool. I will admit I'm tired of the average "let's swim in a fountain and make out on the beach" TTD sessions. FI and I are both creative and artsy. To me, it's about creating something memorable with something that would otherwise live its life in my closet.

I have mixed emotions. I saw one that was okay, but it looked wierd because her husband was wearng a polo shirt and khakis...so the couple ones were dumb.I wouldn't do it, but they are fun to look at.

Oddly enough, I don't remember that many pictures of just the two of us being taken at the wedding. I guess I'll find out if I'm wrong in a couple weeks. But even though our wedding reflected us, we went on the tame side for our guests. I want pictures that reflect things we love.

I didn't do one (and probably won't) but I don't have a problem with them. I know that for us personally, we didn't get much picture-taking time on wedding day so it would have been nice to plan another day of pictures.

I can't imagine what you do with all the pictures, but I'm sure it'd be fun.  I like playing dress-up, I get the appeal.

I just don't get it. You take engagment pictures, 12 hours of pictures at your wedding, and you need more?! What is one going to DO with all of those pictures? I have over one THOUSAND pictures from my wedding. Know how many I have up on my wall? Like...6. And that's in 4 rooms. Why in the world, does anyone need MORE pictures than that?

I have seen some amazing ones, and some awful ones. I don't think I could pull one off personally, but if you have a vision for it I think it would be really neat to do...and definitely more memorable than the closet!

It's fun to look at the pictures, but I would never do it with my dress. FI's mom is going to make my dress, and we're going to base it on a dress from a movie that I really love, and so with all that it's going to have way too much sentimental value for me to want to hurt it in any way. We're probably going to have some beach pictures anyway since we are getting married very near the beach, but I'm going to be very careful about the condition of my dress.

I thought I wanted to one, but as it turns out, I'm far too lazy to bother getting back into my dress and all that. And i'm with fish.. I already have more wedding photos than I know what to do with.

You're wearing your wedding dress on a day that you arne't getting married and taking pictures to pretend that you were badass on your wedding day? I really don't get it.

Not everyone has e-pics, b-pics, and 12 hours of pics from the wedding. Just sayin... I planend on doing them at some point - somehow the big baby belly won't fit in the dress Maybe I still will, sometime down the road. I personally like the artsy-ness of them and think they're cool. And I don't have many good pics of me, so, playing dress up would be fun.

I'd say TTD instead of e-pics at least limits the volume of pictures you have. If one is more your style than the other, more power to ya.

Yet another thing I wouldn't know about, were it not for TK.  My dress is the detail I'm concerned with the least, I think.  It's a dress I'll only wear once, and won't spend a bunch of money on.  But I couldn't bring myself to trash it.  It's not that important to me, but I want to keep it in tact for some reason. Sentimentality I guess.

I think that we are going to do them. We got engagement pictures included with our package but got so busy that we never had them taken. We can't get a credit for them, so we might as well get them. Plus, none of the pictures that we had were very artsy or super fun except a handful, so it will be nice to have relaxing creative ones. He would be wearing a suit for sure, so that he pretty much matches me.

The original "idea" behind TTD was to actually trash it during the shoot. Since presumably, you're not going to get married again, it was a way of "honoring" your marriage.

Horses, Fishy! Galloping bareback in a field on my wedding day with a long flowing train was not exactly in the timeline.

Eh, I dunno. We weren't able to use the Harley on the wedding day as a get away vehicle - we want to capture that. I just think the session will capture the essence of who we are more so than our engagement photos. I totally understand your points, though.

For real. If Harley's are that important to you and your husband, why the need for pictures in your wedding attire? Why not just take a picture of yourselves on the harley in the clothes you'd be wearing if you were on the Harley? It defies all logic.

That's a deal! Although I may need extensions. I got the pregnancy cut during the summer because hair down to my butt was just too much work. And it was hot.

It's somewhat impractical, on my wedding day, to wander around a freezing cold mountain lake.  Especially since my pictures are before my wedding, and presumably, be for I kill my mother and cover my dress in her blood.So... You can see my dilemma.
