If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

I would live right outside of Florence, Italy. FI wants to dissapear off the grid and move to some Caribbean island.

Oh, so many places! I'd love to live near Munich in Germany, near H's family, for a few months (over winter, at least!). It would also be great to base ourselves there and go exploring the rest of europe during our spare time. I'd also love to live in Japan.The difficulty with all of the above is taking our kittens with us, and paying off our house whilst overseas!

Not sure. I would love to go back to Australia, and I would also love to live in New Zealand for a year. We have to stay in the UK until I can become a citizen here, it should take about 2.5 more years. After that we can consider moving somewhere else.

To answer my own pollI want to live in San Francisco and have wanted to live there since I was a teenager. We plan on me getting registered, moving to the UK for a while and then on to the states. Oh and we are going there on our OE and its the part I'm most excited about

FI and I don't think too big. We just want to be able to live together and someday to move back to our favorite place, which is Lake Placid, NY.

I could see (as a dream) retiring outside of Florence (good idea!), in Napa/Sonoma, or maybe the Hamptons.  As someone who has a job, I can't imagine being any happier than with we live now (West Village in NYC).  We're very lucky.

Hong Kong.  It's a great mix of eastern & western culture (they celebrate both holidays).  Has big city skyscrapers & remote islands.

New Zealand. Climate/lifestyle-wise it's the closest to being back in South Africa, without most of the negatives.

Possibly London or Edinburgh. As long as I never had to drive. Their driving is crazy. (Psst - it's on the wrong side of the road!) Kidding, their driving is crazy regardless of what side it's on.Or maybe Toronto.I couldn't live anywhere hotter than where I am now. I complain if it's above 75 degrees.
