**Salt**

Am I remembering correctly that you practice yoga?

Re: **Salt**

  • Hi! Yes I do! Why do you ask?

  • I've been really stressed out lately, and have been wanting to try it for a long time. I was just wondering what your recommendation would be for a beginner (as in I can barely touch my toes and tend to fall over standing up).
  • Awesome, thanks! I'll do some research and hopefully start this weekend. :)
  • Sorry to intrude... but what does practicing yoga achieve? Is it a workout? Do you lose weight? I'm pretty sure it makes you more flexible and strengthens your core, but why yoga over something else? It's always seemed really cool but something, like ballet, that my body just WON'T do.
  • I'm mostly interested in the flexibility and relaxation of it. I've had a lot of stress on my shoulders lately, and I want to find a way to do something for me and just release it. Otherwise, someone will probably be punched the next time they irritate me. ;)
  • Depending on what kind I'm practicing, I use muscles in yoga class that I normally don't get to. I originally started going for stress management, but in the process I've become more toned, my balance is much better and I'm way more flexible. Certain postures are good for various body functions (ie: digestion, lung capacity, etc.) and certain ones can help combat depression and anxiety. There are TONS of health/mind well being benefits on top of it being a good workout. :)
