invitation to the rehersal dinner?

I am currently designing my invitation and I am wondering what to do about the rehersal dinner. I am having a destination wedding, so everyone is also invited to the rehersal dinner. Can I just include the rehersal dinner details on the wedding invite? Do I even need an invitation to the rehersal dinner? We do have a website and the info about the rehersal dinner is included there. The website info is on all the save the date cards that just went out on Monday. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Re: invitation to the rehersal dinner?

  • I like the idea of including a card with the wedding invite. But when you word the invite, it's spelled "rehearsal."
  • Personally I would do a separate insert for the rehearsal dinner, or just send it seperately once you have wedding rsvps.

  • Can you just print up an extra note on some white card stock and stick that in with the invitation?
  • Yup, I'd just do an insert card.  Not everyone will look at the website, andsome that do might not realize they're invited to the rehearsal dinner.

  • I agree with lpstl. You should send a separate invite once you have the RSVPs. If you send the invites about 6 weeks before the wedding, it would be easy to lose a small insert. I would wait and send out more invites to the rehearsal dinner about 2 weeks before the dinner.
  • Thanks for the suggestions, and oops on the spelling of rehearsal! So if I decide to just include a little notecard about the rehearsal dinner in the invitation, then can I leave a spot for them to RSVP for both events on the RSVP card?
  • Haay, I think an additional card in the invitation and 2 separate spaces on the response card are a perfect idea.

  • We did a DW and invited everyone to the rehearsal dinner as well. The invites were pocket-folds and were organized as follows: - Actually invite part was for the ceremony - Insert card called "Celebrations" listed the rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, and reception - Insert card called "Travel and Accommodations" listed the airports and hotel info - RSVP w/return envelope Pics in bio under paper tab.
