Knottie vibes needed

FI just called me...he's been in the ER all day long.  It's nothing super major (gallstones...he's been having gallbladder attacks for about a week), but it's more that he's in NJ with no-one save his work colleagues, and I'm stuck here in WI.I hate that I can't be there with him, even if it just means sitting in the ER.  He's all by himself.  I know he's a grown man, but dangit...LDR's suck.TIA

  • I'm really sorry to hear that and I feel your pain. FI and I are in a WI/DE LDR, and there have been many occasions when I've felt impotent because I wasn't able to be there for FI. It is so frustrating.I hope your FI feels better soon.

    Our Story MAJORLY UPDATED 8/6/09
Wouldn't it be nice to live together in the kind of world where we belong?
  • I'm sure he's getting good care.  Can you text back and forth?  It may help him pass the time.  Had same type of attack and they just waited until pain subsided and then sent me home.  Sometimes even bending over helps to dislodge the stone(s).  He may want to get the gall bladder removed once he gets home, so he is control of the situation.  As my doc described to me it's better to schedule the removal than have another attack when you are away or at a time that's hard to work around.  Now it's a fairly simple surgery and recovery.  Sending good thoughts your way.  These things suck.
  • Poor thing! I hope he feels better soon!
  • I wish he had texting on his phone...there seem to be issues with that.  He's probably sleeping right now while he's waiting for the next test he'll be having done.He lives in NJ...so it's not like he'll be coming back here.  He doesn't have any family there, or really any friends.  I'm hoping he'll be able to schedule the surgery and I can make arrangements to get out there...Thanks everyone.
  • Oh, sorry to hear that! I would want to be there, too :(
