I noticed you use a harness on him. Do you use it exclusively for taking him out or do you sometimes use the collar too? Is it a pain to get on and off?

We use the harness when we take him on longer walks or out in public--it's just a little easier to control him should something go wrong.  But for short walks we just use the collar--it's really not a huge deal to put on and take off.
