The ones I dug out of the middle don't exactly taste like crayons, but some are sure waxy! It's been years since I've had candy corn...but I went to the store to get some hallowe'en candies, it was pretty much all they had left!

That's probably because  they are made of essentially the same ingredients as crayons plus sugar.  Wax is used in most candies and chocolate.  Makes them shiny. Anyone remember the episode of Mr. Rogers at the crayon factory? That was a great one.

I like the pumpkins better too for the same reason that the Christmas tree Reece's cups are always better. It's all about the fatness.
