Um...do they even know the purpose of carpool lanes?  They're to encourage people to carpool to save the environment, and to move more people faster.  I don't really think a fetus counts.  That's silly.

I'm all about special treatment for pregnant ladies, but that's ridiculous. A lady made the news in Dallas for trying to use her pregnancy as justification to drive in the HOV lane, though. She got a ticket.

What an idiotic thing to waste one's time campaigning for.  What does a pregnant woman NEED to use the HOV lane for?   I was unaware that the "right to use the HOV" lane was written into the constitution.

I believe in NoVa/MD/DC area a one day old baby counts as the 2nd person.  And transporting a baby in the HOV lanes does nothing to save the environment.

seriously? With that logic we would have to count a pregnant woman as 2 guests on the boat.  We are only allowed 49 guests period.  Does not matter if they are 1 day old or not.  They are a guest. We charge for all guests. So we can not get more money for them.

Scoetto, I have a teacup chihuahua who likes to burrow anyway, so I think I'm just gonna shove him under my shirt and ride in the carpool lane all entitled like.  You put the kitty in your pants, and we'll compare notes to see how it all works out.

I'm with a Mrs. You could argue that even an infant wouldn't "count" as a second passenger in the HOV lane because they aren't going to drive themselves, and therefore, it's not like you're literally carpooling, huh? ;-)That is just crazy. Concessions for pregnant women in certain areas are one thing, but these people are just trying to milk the system/ play their "special snowflake" card.

I think what the this organization isn't remembering is that pregnancy is a temporary condition. It's not like you get knocked up, then stay that way forever.  That's what struck me as the funniest part.

Oh good lord. Every HOV I've ever driven in though has considered children under the age of 16 to be the second passanger. Even though they're not out there creating more pollutants because they're legally not able to drive.Same situation, in my opinion. Being impatient + with child =/= special accommodations for the HOV lane, no matter how crazy you are.

I get really tired of pregnant women who feel the world should revolve around them and their fetus.Don't they have something better to focus their energy on than silly campaigns such as this?

OMG, the bumper stickers are killing me.  I would think having one of those on your car sets you up for getting pulled over even more.
