Hey, uh, Felkels

No need to DD the thread.Your same question gets posted a lot and now you've deleted the answers that could help the next person who wants to know about inviting to the reception and not the ceremony. Not to mention, deleting our responses is disrespectful to us.Thanks a lot.

  • ugh... I hate when they do that. I was just about to suggest she just have a picnic or BBQ a few weeks after the wedding for their friends. Nothing fancy, food from Sam's club can be cheap. I know I would rather celebrate with my friends that way  better than a cake and punch reception after a ceremony I was not invited to.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • Why, yes, Mrs B, you are genius. And I'm with Lynda.
  • That must have been one fast DD if it all happened while I was reading Dudley good morning thread. Weird, because usually it's all sleepy and smiley in here on Saturday mornings, definitely not DD time!

  • Was it about having a small ceremony and a big reception or something?

  • small ceremony with dead grandma's friend's and inviting her friends to a cake and punch reception afterwards. Do not get me wrong.  I do not mind cake and punch receptions.  But I do think it's not the type of reception that you invite people who could not invite to  the ceremony.

  • yep but the backpedaling began when explain why they picked a particular chapel for the ceremonyher church was ugly and she didn't want to get married there

  • D'oh! FI and his mom have been trying to talk me into inviting more people to the reception than the ceremony, but that is not going to happen.
