Its here...

Its getting dark out. Its not even 5pm. Its so utterly depressing. I think this is my LEAST favourite part about fall. I had to share that.

Re: Its here...

  • I know. It sucks. Nothing like driving home at 4 in the afternoon in the dark.

  • I hate that too. I don't want to think about it.
  • I hate it too.  So, so sad.  And it's bright so early.  Which makes it hard to sleep.

  • Yep. I'm still here at work and it's dark out my window. This is the only reason I liked being in the windowless office better last year.

  • I thought maybe we were getting a wicked storm or something but I think its just nighttime.
  • I think I'm the only person that is loving this time change.  I finally woke up on time for work this morning, after returning to my 9:30 bed time (because I'm apparantly a flippin grandma).  It does suck that it gets dark so early, though.
  • Oh jees.  I feel like an idiot.  I was just thinking that we must me getting some rain because it's so dark out... I don't like this at all.  Especially since it's in the high 80's.  I need some cooler weather!
  • That, and the fact that sun was coming through my windows at 6 am. In the shower at 6:45 I kept feeling like I was running late due to the amount of light outside.

  • I do like that it gets lighter earlier. It makes is much easier to wake up for work.

  • I love that it's lighter out in the mornings though.  When I took the dog out this morning it wasn't near as scary as doing it in the pitch dark.
  • AND the madmen season finale is next week booo. I mean, I am excited for it, but after that it is over :( You up to date on what has been happening?
  • I dont get up until around 7:30, it was half light when I would shower last week but this week I had to scramble to shut the blinds in the bathroom because the sun was burning my poor eyes.
  • Alexia, it's also 80 degrees here. I hate it. And my family on the East coast thinks I'm crazy for complaining. But it's really, really boring living somewhere that's sunny 330 days a year and has no seasons.

I finally woke up on time for work this morning, after returning to my 9:30 bed time (because I'm apparantly a flippin grandma).I am with you 100%.  I didn't even have to hit Snooze this morning!  No Madmen spoilers please, I haven't watched last night's (since I am a grandma and went to bed early).
  • I much prefer it getting dark earlier in the evennig than it being dark later in the morning.  I actually got to drive to work today in the daylight which makes my 50 minute drive much, much more bearable. Give it a couple of weeks, though, and I'll be driving both ways in the dark.  Booo...
  • I hate the dark because that means the gym lights will be on, which makes it look all bright in there. This will be my first Stats class in the dark- awesome. Another reason not to go... if only I could skip.
  • I havnt seen last nights episode (I couldnt stay up - I got no sleep the night before because I was too scared because of paranormal activity so I couldnt stay up to catch mad men online last night), but Ive watched the video recap on amc and read the review on tom and lorenzos blog (great!). I will be watching it tonight when I get home from the gym. Nothing beats last weeks episode though, good gravy.
  • This one is a nail biter... and you get to see the wedding. I won't reveal much more.I also saw PA, so bad, but so scary.
  • Haha Nebb, glad I got you hooked on T&L!  I love them.

  • We do not change our clocks.  Being so close to the equator we pretty much have 11 hours of daylight year round.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I know, it BLOWS. I hate, hate, hate this time of the year. Dec 22 is my favorite day.
