Flower Girls and Ring Bearers

What did yours carry? It sounds pretty self explanatory but when we are talking 3-6 year old kids, I am wondering what worked best? Pillows with fake rings? Baskets of flowers? Bouquets of flowers? Experiences?

Re: Flower Girls and Ring Bearers

• I had no flower girls or ring bearers. I don't find them cute. I know. I'm horrible, but they just get in the way.

• I think at that age, are you just using them as prop in a photo?  If your going to have a ring bearer, my opinion, they should carry the rings. My flower girl was a little older, so she carried a flower wand.

• Our ring bearers just carried a pillow  I got last minute with fake rings. They were older (8 and 10) but H freaked for some reason so our BM just held the rings. Our flower girl on the other hand was very young, just turned three. We wanted her to be as comfortable as possible walking down the aisle so we made her favorite toy, her puppy, have a flower collar and she just walked down the aisle carrying that.
• Aw, Meghan. Ok. YOURS were cute.

• haha no, no photo prop - they are my niece and nephew so we really want to include themMeag that is just adorable!
• Thank fish! those are my sisters' kids, they clean up real nice :)
• I'm with fishy. But since they're your sister's kids I guess it's okay. ;-)How many are there? FI's cousin just got married and put all the nieces and nephews he and his fiancee/now-wife had in the wedding who could walk. They had 3 flower girls and 4 ring bearers. They have another niece and nephew who were too little to be in the wedding. It was a hell of a lot of kids. Just saying.

• Ours were my husband's twin niece and nephew. They were 3 and 1/2 at the time... She carried a bouquet that was a smaller version of mine. We presented the bouquet to the Virgin Mary during the mass - she brought it up to me at the right time. He carried the ring pillow with the (gasp!) real rings attached. Since he was given the pillow about two minutes before he actually walked down the aisle, what could really go wrong? I did tie them on there extra-tight, though ;) And the photographer caught the moment:
• We're only having a ring bearer (FI's nephew), which I caved on having for political reasons.  It was one of those battles I chose to not get into with FI's family. That said, he's going to carry a dish with fake rings tied to it.  I saw some pretty dishes on Etsy and thought that would make a much nicer keepsake than a pillow.
• My bro and sil didn't 'train' the kids to do what they were supposed to.  Oh well, they still looked cute and I just wanted them to be a part of the wedding.FG had a basket, but she walked with her parents and didn't use the basket.RB#1 carried the pillow with fake rings and RB#2 carried the FG basket.  No lie, pics in bio.

• I didn't have them either.  It's hard enough trying to get some adults to cooperate much less kids! But I would never give a young ring bearer the real rings, there are too many things that could go wrong here.  I would use fake rings.I've seen flower girls carry pomander balls and I thought that was really cute.
• My nephew carried a Batman action figure. Our actual rings were in organza bags, and when the minister called his name, he walked to the front, and handed them to us.It was perfect, and he was well behaved. We didn't have attendants, so he did not stand with us.This is how intently he was listeninng for his cue (and holding Batman):Mom and dad had already untied the bags so he could bring them up to us.

I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
