Why is it the norm for women to wear skirts/dresses and men to wear pants?Anatomically speaking... should it be the other way around? (Think about it for a second.)

I've thought about this too.  And - why did women ride horses side-saddle & men didn't?  That seems WAY backwards to me.

Men did start off wearing various forms of dresses and skirts and then "britches" and "pantaloons" were introduced to men and became popular.  Thus, dresses and skirts became women wear and pants belonged to men.

Its easier for men to pad their junk to make it look bigger in pants than a skirt, like they did in olden days. Though I just read that Henry VIII did that so he could wear medicated pads to soothe his syphilus. Blegh.

And what about bicycles?  Why does the "mens" bike have the bar up top where they're more likely to bang the junk and the ladies have theirs down low?  (I know, it's for the skirts we're supposed to be wearing, but still....)
