RSVP address missing APT Number!

I just received my RSVP cards and my address is missing my apt number! The printing company isn't willing to reprint another set, and they're making me reorder them. I don't want to waste more money on that company so I was wondering if I should just leave it alone and have the mailman deal with it, or use the embosser that I have to put the correct address onto the flap of the envelopes. Will it be weird to have the address on the envelope twice? In the front and back?

Re: RSVP address missing APT Number!

  • Unless you have proof the company messed up your address, you're SOL and need to reorder. Or use your embosser.
  • can you just order blank envelopes and emboss them?or hand-write the apt #? I don't think that would be too big of a deal, honestly.I wouldn't put 2 addresses on one envelope though.
  • I was wondering if I should just leave it alone and have the mailman deal with itI don't have good advice about what you should do, but if you do what I italicized, good luck - you'll need it.

  • Yeah, if you can prove they made the mistake, I find that using lots of curse words at an above normal decibel works.  I'd use the embosser and save the money and not worry about the address being on there twice.

  • The apt number is missing as the return address on the invite envelope?  missing as the send-to address on the RSVP envelope?  or Missing on the RSVP card itself?

  • I was wondering if I should just leave it alone and have the mailman deal with itWhat do you mean "have the mailman deal with it"?I would use the embosser or just write in your apt. no.
  • Oh and I wouldn't have your mailman deal with it. That's just wrong. Somebody effed up and it the mail guy/gal shouldn't have to suffer.
  • Did the company send you proofs? If you approved proofs that didn't have the apt # you're SOL. My invites were not right when I got them...they used the semi-final, not the final round of proofs that I signed off on. I called them as soon as I received them and they sent me corrections within 48 hours.
  • Whose mistake was it? Did the company just neglect to put them on? If so, they need to fix it -- unless you approved a proof without it, then it's your responsibility. If it's your mistake, I'd probably just handwrite in the apartment number next to the address (just a simple, #3C) or use the embosser. I think you can do it in a way that it's not terribly obvious. Use a pen or marker similar to what's on the envelope and try to write it in a similar style.
  • I would just use a thin sharpie or something to neatly write #2 or whatever after the street address.  It's the RSVP envelope, not something anyone is going to save. If it was an error on your invites, that's one thing. I think few people will notice a small #2 handwritten.

  • If the printing company made the mistake and you paid for it with a credit card, call your credit card company's customer service department and say you want to dispute a charge. Then call the printer and tell them that you're disputing the charge with your credit card company. You will be AMAZED at how anxious companies are to get problems resolved when their money has a hold on it!
