NWR: Any ideas?

I'm trying to e-mail myself a large powerpoint document so that I can print it off on my work computer, but since it's a pretty big sucker (75 slides, Biome Jeopardy, come one down! :D ) gmail and yahoo mail keep failing to attach it (it's on a jump drive, my work computers are old as the hills and don't have a connection for a jump drive). Is there any way to compress it somehow, just to get it emailed to myself? We don't have a kinko's or anything like that around here, or I'd just take it there to get printed.  Any ideas?

And betrothed, I'm disgusted with most of the comments that you have posted. I don't think I've ever read such judgmental comments in my life. I'm so lucky that the girls I speak to on theknot are nothing like you...I would've never come on here for ADVICE if I would've encountered a big a bitch as you. I genuinely feel awful for your children or your future children, and I think it would be irresponsible of YOU not to invest in their future therapy sessions starting now. Because trust me when I tell you honey, they're gonna need it. ~jcaruncho2010

  • Can you break it into two documents and email them separately?
  • winRAR is a free zip program.  It will create zip files or RAR files.  I prefer RAR, but then you'd have to download that software on your work computer too.  Or, you could split it into multiple PPT files.

  • Ditto cacoffer you can copy and paste the slides from one into the other to put it back together later.
  • If your work computers can hook up to printers, you should be able to use a jump drive. It's the same USB port. Unless it's so old it has those huge things with screws in them for the printer. I'm not much help. Gmail in theory should be able to attach it, there's loads of storage space, but I had the same issue with my huge grad school portfolio a few years ago. I ended up having to break it up into chunks to email. Could that work? Multiple smaller slide shows?

  • I'm testing out ring's website now, seems to be the easiest. I don't know how to zip it, so if that doesn't work I'll try to figure that out next.

  • If it's a powerpoint, did you redue the sizes of the images before you stuck them into PPT? I've seen doctor's presentations that were literally 2 or 3 gigs because they were using images right out of the MRI. Within Powerpoint, resizing the appearance of the images doesn't actually reduce the file size. If you were to open the images in photoshop or something though and "save for web" you can usually reduce the file size by 50 or 60%. Smaller image files means a leaner PPT and it might be enough to get you under the transfer restrictions so the file can be emailed.

  • Can you upload them to docs.google.comAnd then access that site from work to print them off? Uploading them to that has always worked faster for me than trying to attach them to an email.
