Actual Etiquette Q: Salutations for kids

The salutation for young boys used to be "Master", as in "Master John Doe". Do people still do this anymore? If so what's the age cutoff?

I haven't heard this being used for young boys outside of the book The Secret Garden.Master Colin was.... 10 years old, i believe.

Fated - Don't forget the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. He was a teenager, so maybe the cutoff is 18?

Unless it's a super super formal wedding, I wouldn't use titles for children under 18. Simply list their first names under their parent's names on the inner envelope

oooh, that's right.. Master Carlton... I was actually watching that show this morning. It was on after Saved by the Bell.

"Master" reminds me of Igor. Kids don't need titles.

That's sort of what I figured. I had seen it used when I was a little kid but I think it must have been sort of tongue-in-cheek. Thanks everybody!
