Poll: random facts (about you)

Because I'm so bored: 3 random facts about yourself. 1) I have lived in (or is it on?) three different continents. 2) I have never wanted a pet. I love other people's kittens/dogs/hamsters, but it stresses me out to have responsibility for an animal full time. 3) I've fallen in love with this dress. I could never afford it, Christos dresses aren't available anywhere within a thousand mile radius of where I live, and it probably wouldn't even look good on me. But I still want it. http://www.projectwedding.com/wedding-dresses/designer/christos/desiree Your turn!

  • 1.  I secretly want to audition for American Idol, even though I know I can't sing all that well.  And it would be nice to get to tell Ryan Seacrest in person that's he a giant bag o'douche. 2.  I can't swim and don't want to learn, and I secretly hate my FI every time he suggests teaching because "what if something horrible happens and you have to know?" Yeah, whatever, I won't be around water. 3.  My lucky number is 12, and I can base it on nearly every aspect of my birth.
  • 1)  I hate the term foodie. 2) I have the organizational and planning skills of a rock.3)  I'm much quieter in real life than I would appear here.

  • 1)  There's a 6 in almost every single number that has to do with my birth (except my length).  Month, day, year of my birthday, I was 6lbs 6oz, born at 6:06 AM, and my mom was in birthing room 6.  I'd totally like to think I'm not the devil though.2)  I have Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder.  It's like OCD, but without the rituals and horrible thoughts.  Look it up.  It basically means I'm a cheap control freak.3)  My house got broken into when I was in college and I came home and they were still there.  To this day I can't sleep if I'm home alone at night.  It's incredibly immature and embarrassing, but I'd have to have a friend come stay with me if FI was going to be gone for more than one night (I can totally function on one night of no sleep, but that's about it).

  • 1. I have about 5 careers I want to pursue in life. I can't see myself doing any one thing forever. I'd get 2 more degrees if I had the money. (I already have 2)2. I can't swim very well, and have an intense fear of drowning. I'd like to learn, but I tried and I can't get the breathing down--mostly because I can't stand to have my face in the water even if for a moment so I freak out and lift my head up.3. I'm afraid to have a kid. I do want one, but just one, but I'm afraid because of stupid things--mostly due to the line of work I'm in. I'm afraid I'll worry myself to death.

  • J&K, I came home when robbers were in my house when I was 16 and almost saw them (had I of walked into the kitchen 3 more feet I would have). I have had numerous nightmares about it and cannot be alone in that house unless the alarm is on, even during the day.
  • 1. When I was four, my parents and I lived at the American Embassy and I had a Chinese nanny, so I was fluent in Mandarin Chinese for about a year. 2. • The robbers one reminded me of another...There was a guy who went to my school that is on deathrow because he killed a girl he met on myspace, and back when Facebook was just for college students and you could see everyone's profile at your school, he used to IM me all the time and want to hang out.

  • I either wait for my husband to drive me or I find city roads that will get me there. I have only had my license for 3 years and it freaks me out for some reason. I plan to get over it by next summer though because I need to get my G either next year or the year after.
  • 3. I don't like the Beatles. Or I should say, I don't understand the Beatles hype.I am wounded. I am literally rocking out to them right this very second.

  • 1) I've always had this 'feeling' that at some point in my life I would win the lottery. I've lately come to think that it won't happen til I'm on my death bed. The irony would fit my life lately lol2) I spoke spanish til I was 5 and then switched to ONLY English in one week. 3) My parents met in the Navy. I was in the Air Force (for 28 days due to a medical reason). Ffil is also retired Navy. Both FBIL's are also in the military.
  • Nebb, that's awful!  The same thing happened to me, I didn't actually see them, I went into the bathroom and saw the open window (In Feb) and got the heck out.  They hadn't gotten to my roommate's room (she had a ton of cash out on her desk) and I can see the kitchen and living room when I walked in so they were either in my room or my other roommate's room.  I still think "What if I had walked into my room before the bathroom?"  The only reason I knew they were still there is because I left my purse on the couch when I walked back out (just grabbed my cell) and my wallet was gone when the police got there.

  • alix, please explain the appeal. What makes them better than all other bands (according to some people)? They're just not my cup of tea, I guess.
  • 1. Apparently I am related to Ben Franklin through DH. I think that is the closet to a famous person anyone in my family has ever gotten. 2. I also have a water phobia and am afraid of the water, but I love sitting on the beach staring at the ocean. Just don't make me go in. 3. Once while drunk, my mother told me that I was named after her 2 best friends in high school who both did in drunk driving accidents at 16. She has denied saying it ever since, but as a teenager I was afraid to turn 16 cuz I thought I was going to die also.
  • Nebb--I've only had my license for 3 years, and I'm still terrified of driving certain places (high traffic, interstates with an outrageous number of lanes, etc).  FI makes fun of me about it sometimes, but he just doesn't get that I will go into panic attack mode if I'm forced to drive in those areas.
  • Re: the robbers one: HOW scary! In university, I was home alone for the weekend, and woke up at 3 am hearing someone walking up the staircase. I have the worst eyesight ever (-5), and wasn't wearing contacts, and freaked out and called the police. Turns out it was a drunk guy who had just opened the door (the lock was shitty in our cheap, shitty, student house) and walked in to the house to use the bathroom.
