Reply cards, what is wrong here?

Hi Ladies, I just got my invites, response sets and thank you cards sent in the mail. They are beautiful, however, the reply cards say on the front "Kindly respond by April 15, 2010." That's great. But the back is blank. Shouldn't they have a some sort of layout for people to write in how many are coming? They are from costco. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks!

People can just write their response on there.  That's how it used to be years ago anyways.

Usually there is a line, but I would hope like the PP said that people would figure it out and put their name and how many are coming. If you REALLY wanted to fix it you could write NAME and NUMBER OF GUESTS somewhere.

When you ordered them did the sample have a spot to indicate if the guests was going to attend or not?This might just be how they are, if that's the case could you run them through your printer, or you could take your chances. Unfortunately people seem to have a hard enough time with the cards that have a reply indicator, so I wouldn't count on everyone using common sense.

I'd print something on them. It'll be a huge headache for you having to decipher cards like that.

Yea, that's the old school way of doing it.  It'll be a huge pain, though, esp. if you're only inviting certain ppl in the family, or you're limiting your "and guests".  You leave the invitee w/ lots of freedom if you don't print more on the card. You can either print on the back, order it differently, or make a new one yourself and insert it.

That's not THAT old-school. I had blank cards for my first wedding in 2002, so that's only 7 years ago. We had no problems with anyone figuring out what to do with them. Maybe I'm showing my age, but I still think they're a lot nicer than the ones where you have to check a box.

I don't get how this is a surprise.  Didn't you see samples?  Or mock ups of your invites?
