The Royal Family

Who was just 30 feet away from Prince Charles and Camilla - I WAS! and I fully realize none of the americans (and probably none of the canadians) will care, but im super freaking excited. I cant believe I saw them in their car! I waved, from my office window. Im going to pretend they saw me.

Re: The Royal Family

  • Gah. They irritate me.

  • What?! That is so cool. What was the occasion?
  • Ive always had a thing for the royal family. They have been visiting Canada, not 100% sure why. Camillas ancestors built a castle in Hamilton so they were there, not sure why they were driving towards Niagara falls though.
  • Huh.  That's kinda awesome.

  • If we were talking about Prince Harry right now, I'd be squeeing. Mmm, ginger. He's one of only two hot redheads that I know.
  • My grandma has loved them (well, more like Princess Di) my entire life.  Even though I'm not a big Camilla fan, it's still cool!  Now if only Harry was in the car...
  • My parents live 3k from Niagara College, my dad wanted to go throw eggs at them (a tradition of his since he was a kid, when the royal family visits... seriously), but he's jetlagged and my mom was being a biatch about it.
  • I had/have a huge crush on Prince William. HUGE.

  • Ive always loved Prince Harry the best, william looks too much like his dad. They are in Niagara on the Lake right now, and I have no idea why but thats a 15 minute drive from where I am right now and im dying to find a reason to drive out there.
  • Wait, they're in Canada today? Any reason? It was so weird to be in the UK and realize they have a royal family/monarchy. I mean, clearly I KNEW that... it just seems antiquated. Maybe it's just because the US has historically been so against one.I've never had the same thought when I'm in Canada, though, because the monarchy doesn't seem as real or as important there.

  • Just tell people you're looking for a wooden barrel you misplaced and you think it might be at the Falls. Works every time!!
  • Niagara on the Lake? That place is so pretty! And has great fudge. I didn't know you were so close.

  • They are travelling across Canada right now, once they get to BC they are heading back to Ottawa for a Rememberance Day ceremony on the 11th. Thats what ive read online.
  • I think it's pretty cool! Except for Camilla - she kind of creeps me out. Well, so does Prince Charles, sort of.I always wanted to meet Princess Diana. I always felt like she needed a friend who liked her for who she was as a person, not a princess. I still remember hearing about her crash - I was driving home from a Labor Day weekend cookout.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
  • That place is so pretty! And has great fudge. If paying $30 for an ounce of fudge is your cup of tea, then yeah!!  The wine is better, and cheaper.
  • That's awesome, Nebb.  Isn't William balding now?

  • Well, the last time I was there, I was 17, so I was too young for wine - even in Canada. Sad face. I just remember there were so many places with fudge. It's like buying wool in Scotland. You can't go anywhere without seeing it.And duh, Canadian money is like monopoly money. It's not for real! (J/k - it's way prettier than American money.)

  • 30$?! Where are you buying your fudge hello sunshine? I always go to that place with the blue and white sign (name escapes me now). I always get a block for 6$ or so. Im in niagara on the lake for work once a week (have to go tomorrow most likely, but not today), and I love it there.
  • I love our pretty rainbow money.
  • Canadian money is definitely cuter than American money.

  • Everytime we go to Banff we always go to the candy store and get some fudge.  So good.
