Wedding Venue Nightmare

Basically, I need one! We planned a date for October of next year in NYC and got a few quotes from hotels that have event space. But so far, none of the reps are great at getting back to us with pricing and all want us to make an appointment to come in. Before we do that, I call to get preliminary pricing, but they hesitate to give that information out. How do I know the reviews of the properties are accurate, and how do I know I won't be wasting my time by making an appointment when the venue either doesn't fit our budget or doesn't have a package that suits our needs?

Can anyone recommend a venue in NYC that can email me pricing information and give a quote over the phone before I make an apointment to go all the way downtown? Thanks, ladies! Happy planning to you all!!Kiss

I would recommend trying the NYC board. The locals will know better.

And many places want you to come in so they can show you what you will be paying for. And the different options. Basically hoping you will fall in love with more than what you can pay ;)

    Be flexible.

When I planned my NYC wedding (granted we started planning over 2 years ago so things may have changed) we were able to get their pricing and packages emailed to us fairly easily.

We received email quotes from 3 West Club, Hotel Giraffe, Yale Club and the Water Club.
  • Most places seemed to give estimates over the phone. But some wanted us to come in. Just tell them that you are interested in pricing to see if it will fit your budget and they should help you out.
