Re: Response time?

  • one to 2 weeks before you have to give your final numbers to your venue/caterer. You want to have time to track down late RSVPs and make those phone calls before you have to turn in final numbers. However, having it like 2 months before the wedding is ridiculous because a lot can change in that time for your guests lives.

  • Our wedding is July 13th and we chose June 8th. Our final counts need to be in 2 weeks before the wedding, so I guess that puts us at about 3 weeks before that is due and 5 weeks before the wedding.

  • For my October 8th wedding, we had to give our venue a final headcount by September 28th. Our rsvp deadline was September 10th and we called anyone whose response we didn't starting on the 17th.

One or two weeks before your final number is due. Mine wasn't due until 72 hours prior to the event so I think mine was two weeks before the Wednesday before event.

I just got an invitation in the mail for my cousin's wedding. It's in June. RSVPs due in March. ::headdesk::

  • wow march is early for a june wedding! I thought we were doing ours early asking people to respond by april for a may wedding!!! We need the final numbers before the end of april and our room block is only good till the end of feb so we are sending invites out early with this detail, and to keep my sanity i pushed it back a little bit more to a week into april, but its still only a month before not 3 months!!!!!! THats a bit crazy!

I would say to set it as close to the wedding date as your venue/vendors and sanity can handle.

  • I have mine for 3 weeks.

I do not understand why the room block had to be 2 months before the wedding, i work in a hotel & we are 2 weeks, standard is no more than a month before the wedding.

  • I don't get that either sweetcanadian. I've worked in hotels and rooms drop out 30 days prior to the event typically.
