Hi!
I was planning on getting married in May this year, but unfortunately my FFIL got diagnosed with throat cancer in Jan. As he is undergoing radiation therapy we've had to postpone the wedding till he gets bette. The problem is that my FILs are not even listening about setting an alternate date (I'm an Indian and our parents set the date). My parents are not too happy about it since postponing the wedding is considered bad luck and as this is an interfaith marriage with his parents being none too happy about the whole thing since the start.
FI and I realise that there is nothing to be done but would also like a date to be set. Couple this with my FMIL's snide remarks and "forgetfulness" about our customs and my goose is totally cooked..
I don't know how to manage things and am just so depressed.. If anybody can provide a solution for this predicament I'd be really grateful.
