Would you be mad/upset/hurt etc?

So I'm not the type to be gift grabby.  I figured out at 15 that the easiest and most surefire way to get something was to get a job and make some money and buy it.  This is not about presents.

But my wedding was 2 weeks ago yesterday and my mom hasn't gotten me a present yet.  Or a card.  Is that weird?  I'm starting to get annoyed.

She's a busy woman and isn't the typical mom but I guess I just feel a bit slighted.

Oh well - thanks for listening.  Maybe I'll get a card in the mail tomorrow and feel like a dbag for whining on the internets about her.

im sorry, and to answer your question, yes i would be hurt, but fwiw, knowing my mom, i probably wouldnt love what she got me anyway, hopefully she will prove me wrong.

i hope you do get something, but dont take it personally, some people view gifts as an obligation more than for the JOY of giving, and she may just think that since shes ur mom, there is no obligation.

Andy, my mom (or sister's) didn't get me anything either.  Not even a card.  It sucks.

My mom helped pay for my shower, gave me a great shower gift, and paid for my dress and alterations, and she's told me that's all I'm getting.  I'm more than fine with that, but I still expect her to give me a card at the wedding, and will be pretty confused and sad if she doesn't because she's a big card person.

It really sucks and I would be hurt too, but 2 weeks isn't that long, hopefully it's on the way?

She actually did get us something for our shower - mostly because my little sister made her go to Macy's on the way to the shower .  My little sister picked us out a Vera Wang Chip and Dip  which is beautiful.

Because it was such a nice shower gift I wasn't expecting a present - maybe just a card?

Did your mom pay for anything at all in the wedding?  Perhaps she considered that her wedding gift.

From my standpoint, I wouldn't expect anything from my mom for the wedding.  My parents are contributing to the wedding and my mom is helping me in many other ways, so I don't feel like I should expect anything additional from them. 

Could you bring this up to your mom?  Maybe mention that you're hurt that she didn't even give you a card?  I'm sure she may have just overlooked it, seeing as how there may have been a lot going on for her on your wedding day too.

My mom paid for jackall for the wedding.  I knew my one sister couldn't afford anything and my mom not really either-- but damn yo!  A CARD would be nice!  All my mom had to do was show up.  I had nothing special for anyone.  Not even a rehearsal dinner the night before.
