Is it ok to send OOT guests a postcard STD and in-town guests an email STD?

I am naive when it comes to invitation etiquette so kind advice would help this poor girl!  I'm thinking of sending OOT guests a postcard STD and in-town guests an email STD.  The approximate breakdown is 10% are OOTand all family and 90% are in-town.  Do you think this would be appropriate?

  • I don't really see the point.  If you're going to do e-mail save the dates for some, why not just do them for all?

  • I would either do email STDs for everyone, or simply send postcards to the OOT guests. STDs are traditionally used for those who may need to make travel arrangements, etc. You aren't required to send them to local guests (or at all if you choose not to.)

  • EDIT: I made a mistake on the third option on the poll.

It says, "No, but only in this case, because your OOT guest numbers are only 10%."

But I meant to write, "Yes, but only in this case, because your OOT guest numbers are only 10%."

This.  I guess I don't understand why you wouldn't just pick one or the other?

  • I sent postcards to my OOT guests and the in-town guests didn't get squat.

  • I did email for everyone.  I was saving the environment... not being cheap.

  • I'm not okay with e-invites/STDs for anything wedding related so I'd vote no regardless of the OOT/in-town ratio.
