do you know when the House Hunters International is going to air? how'd the filming go?

January is all I know so far - I'll let you know when we have an exact date.

Filming is freaking exhausting. I had to get up at 6:45 both Saturday and Sunday because our days started at 8, and I didn't really want to be on TV with that "just rolled out of bed" look. But other than that, it was fun! The crew was nice, and there was a lot of downtime where we were just hanging out. Plus Saturday was a gorgeous day, so it was nice that we went to see a house that's out in the country.

do they really only show you three houses?

Yup. It just takes forever because for each place we do the tour, we talk about what we thought, the realtor talks about what he thinks we thought, and they have to get footage of the place without us in it for those little shots that they do at the end to kind of recap how it all looks.

huh. what happens if you don't like any of the houses? I always wondered that.

Haha yeah, that's why it's a lie (in that everyone already owns one of the properties you see on the show) - they want to guarantee a happy ending. For the other two, you can find something positive to say about pretty much any place, so you could just bullshit although in our case we do believe all the pros and cons that we say about each property.

It's a real picture.   We went to an art museum the other da, and this was one of the exhibits.  It's a room with led globes, and the ceiling and walls are covered in mirrors, and the floor is water.  You walk in the room and shut the door and... magic!!  I had no idea H was taking that picture.  It was really, really beautiful.  Best thing there by far.

So if everyone already owns one of the three places, what do they do for shooting that house?  A lot of the time the houses are empty when you are looking but then they show the update after the couple moves in - how do they do that?

They filmed our update in the morning, then had movers come and hide all our furniture in our guest room and storage space. Filmed the house tour of everything except the guest room, put everything back (and moved the guest bed into the master bedroom) and filmed us "touring" that room. It's very sneaky.

My dreams have been shattered... I just thought that they already bought it, not that they lived there and this is what they did! Ouch that one hurt. ha I'm an idiot.

Well sometimes people don't live there yet - your dreams can still live. It just depends on the timing, I guess, whether the people have moved in or not. Because I think that if someone's in the final stages of paperwork that's ok too, and in that case they wouldn't be living there.

Very sneaky these tv shows are. I knew it wasn't 100% real, but held on to the hope it was somewhat real.  Now if I could only get people to realize Jersey Shore and all the other Jersey shows are fake as well... it's a shame people actually act that way in the Garden State.
