How to thank for an exceptional gift?

Some distant relatives gave me and my husband a very large sum of money for our wedding gift, and I feel a simple thank you card is not enough.  Is there something more that we can do to convey our appreciation?

    There's nothing I would do out of the ordinary I suppose. Just a nice long thank you about what you're going to do with the money? Or if you're going on a HM with it, maybe a few pictures and a souvenir from your trip? No idea.

    We got one family something nice from Aruba for their kids to say thank you, along with a nice thank you note.  They were thrilled!
    It's time. Adoption saving and process started in November 2012.

    My grandmother gave us a large sum of money and we got her a special thank you card from Hallmark and a Willow Tree figure that she had been wanting.
