So, FI is in Costa Rica in the legit jungle.  He left on the 27th and will be gone until the 11th.  He was supposed to be in a hotel tonight, so I would actually get to talk to him - and this was the only time I would get to do so during his whole trip.  Instead, I got an email that his calling card isn't working.

I'm so upset.  Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to hear from him and know that he hasn't been attacked by a leopard, but I really thought I was going to talk to him tonight.  And now I'm sad.  The End.

that stinks. you'll have to have a mini celebration when he gets back to make up for missing NYE...perfect excuse to get silly and make out

I'm sorry. My husband is working tonight, so I can sorta feel your pain. Don't get me wrong; we are both grateful he's got a job. But all of the holidays that he has to work are the pits.

Ha!  Actually, I understand.  FI went to Spain to run with the bulls in 2008, and got to call twice from his friend's blackberry, but I had no way to call him.  I scoured the news reports daily to be sure that any gorings were not in his age bracket.  Seriously. 

It sucks, but it could be worse.  He could be gone until May.  :)  Glass half full - you can get as sloppy drunk as you want tonight, and there's ZERO chance of him making fun of you for it in the future.
