No Ushers

My Fi's cousin is getting married soon and asked me to be her "coordinator" (sigh)! She is not having ushers and is expecting maybe 40 guests, 30 of which are friends/family of the groom. How do we let people know where to sit so it's not one sided? She is having someone at the guest book table outside of the ceremony, is there something she can say there to direct people?
"It is never to late to become what you might have been..."

Re: No Ushers

  • Just have the guest book attendant say "please set yourself."

I think?  I've never seen no ushers, but that's the best I got.

  • I think people will seat themselves like they do at a regular church service/event, especially if there aren't loads of people there. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but you may just want to place a pretty sign on a pedestal that says, "Welcome to X and X's Wedding. Please take the seat of your choice." Or some other wording that means the same thing.
