FMIL-Random

I know I don't post regularly but I do lurk a lot.
So this is really random, but when you read the forums do you ever read FMIL and think it says FML?

Like I would read "Shower etiquette-FMIL" as "Shower Etiquette- F-My Life"

Maybe its because secretly I don't like planning. I just want to show up!

  • When I first joined here I kept thinking that! I'm used to it now lol.

  • Personally, the one I struggle the most with is "STD."  I know it stands for save-the-date, but I still get stuck on it every time I see it.

  • Mine's BM for Bridesmaid.  BM means bowel movement.  It took me a long time to get over that one.

<div>This is the one that always gets me.  Even if I'm actually in a wedding mindframe and I don't intially think Bowel Movement, I have to reread the context so i don't say Brides Maid when its supposed to be Best Man</div>

  • All of the above are confusing. I'll use BM because it's easy, but I have to change my mindset for this website. Remind myself that it's all wedding-related, and not medical (bowel movement or the other STD).
  • STD always gets me too. Sometimes I type things all the way out just because otherwise the acronyms get me confused while writing my own post!
  • The STD gets to me, too. Especially when you see the thread titles... I need help with my STDs! I didn't mean to give them an STD! How do I take it back? Are STDs a good idea? I regret my STDs. AW my STDs! My FI doesnt like the STD I chose! Anyone else not like STDs?

I knew I liked you for a reason, Chels.

I'm the same way with BM and STD especially.

I agree. FMIL to me also means FML.

  • Ditto!

I giggle every time I see STD....I actually said it out loud one day and my MOH said, "Really? STD huh?" lol

  • I'm used to it now but did initially read it in my head as FML.  BTW, what does PIP stand for? I can't seem to figure that one out.
