Can we do an afternoon/evening thread?

Only cause it's almost 9pm here.

I'm freaking exhausted. Today was another tough day at work and then we had another counseling session this evening. I'm ready for sleep. Luckily, I'm 'working from home' tomorrow and if the weather is nice I'm going to lay outside and soak up the vitamin D.

How are things going for you?

Re: Can we do an afternoon/evening thread?

  • I just got home from work.
I took off early because I'm feeling really crummy. I will probably lay down for a nap soon.

  • Snippy, I was thinking of you yesterday. The weather has been crummy here as well and I was feeling a little down. It's sunny today, so I am feeling better too. :)

Guys, I have FOUR hours of work left. This day is dragging.
  • Hi Snippy. H and I just planted grass in our yard two weeks ago and I'm already over waiting for it to come in. You can see some little green patches here and there, but I just feel like we'll never have a full nice green lawn. I'm just impatient and didn't wanna pay for sod so that's what I get.

  • Meh, this session was less good than the first. But it's because H is really squirrely and happy right now so he was super talkative about random shite. We have a plan for next time though so it will be easier.

Erin, I'm sorry for the crappy weather. It's horrible. :(

    Nicole, I'd be impatient too.

I'm worried because it's been super windy, hot and dry (hello forest fires) pretty much every day since we planted. We have a sprinkler system though so we just try to water a lot.

I just got to work and I came in early because a coworker is sick.

Snippy, I am assuming your sig pic is of your dog.  I think he (or she) is absolutely adorable.

  • Aw, Lucy looks so cute!

H and I are taking my grandma out to dinner tonight and surprising her with her gift from DisneyWorld. I'm excited!
  • My BFF is going to be here soon. He lives in SC and is staying at the house while he gets some stuff done around town. I'm happy - I wuv him and we always have a good time together.
  • Awww, Midge that sounds great!
  • Working, but I get to leave @ 4, which is considered early where I work!  FI is off for the next few days so we'll probably just hang out and drink a couple of cold ones tonight Smile

  • Ugh.  I just found out my new boss, who hadn't even fully transistioned to us, who was hired in the middle of May, will be leaving on 7/11.

So, we'll be without a manager... again.  Then once one gets hired, it will be my 6th boss...in 6 years.  It's getting ridiculous.

  • Rsanna, yes, that's Lucy! She had been napping on me and I woke her up and that was the look she gave me.:)
  • Froggie, that's crazy. I'm sorry you have to deal with that much boss bouncing.
  • Hello everyone. My day is dragging.  Sounds like everyone has that going on.

Snippy, she reminds me of a dog my grandma used to have.  Sweetest dog ever.  I am obviously assuming the exact same for yours.

Also, I think it is in the triple digits here.  If it is not, it feels like it is in the 100s when it is still only in the 90s.  Ugh, I don't like heat.

  • Our backyard weather station (H is such a NERD) says it's 104. I double checked with the plain vanilla outdoor thermometer, and it seems accurate.

I want to take a nap, too. My antibiotics have finally kicked in, so I no longer feel like I've been hit by a truck. I still don't feel good, though--more like getting hit by an Aveo.
  • It's in the 100s in Houston and has been all week---and this heat is worse this year than it usually it at this time of year.

So, in honor of the heat, I have made a summer-long commitment to my air conditioner to leave it as little as possilble.

    :)

But I am tired of everyone I know taking pictures of the temperature in their car and posting it to Facebook. DAILY.

I get it. It's hot. You're miserable. Moving on.
  • I really want to run up to the store and get a plastic wading pool. It's pretty outside, and I want to enjoy it with a book or something, but I prefer to do so in icy cool water. The dog could get in it, too.
  • Aww, I hope you feel better soon Special.

Gah, my friend wants to go to my favorite resturant with me (also his fav) but I'm supposed to be diiiiieting. But I haven't been. And I haven't seen him since hte wedding - and even then we didn't spend any quality time together because of all the crazyness that was happening and my ILs being there and junk.

  • What's with all the boss bouncing, Froggie?

    It's 65 here! That's better than before.
