Inviting Ex-SILs

Some friends told me that it's not good to invite my ex-sisters-in-law but I am torn because I really like them and they even invited me and my Fiance to visit them. My fiance is okay with inviting whoever I want to invite but I'm thinking that his family might not be okay with it. Any thoughts?

  • How are they ex?  Your ex-husband's sisters?  Or your brother's ex-wives?

  • Jinx, Dani, but in the other thread of the same name.
  • If the Ex's can get along and be civil to one another, and your brother says it's OK - then go for it.

I invited my Uncle's ex-wife because I have known her all my life and they are capable of being in the same room and being nice to each other.  They even shared a dance at the reception.

How would his family even know who they were?  Are you going to introduce everybody at your wedding and explain your relationship to them?  If you and your FI are close with them and want to invite them then just invite them.  His family will never know that they aren't just old friends of yours, unless you make a point of telling them.
