Help with Hotel Blocks

Hello,

We're getting married in NYC in June and are looking for a couple of 'affordable' hotels  in the city to get a block of rooms? We have a few people coming that would be able to pay in the high 100's and maybe low 200's, any recommendations?

Thanks!

The lowest we were able to find (for a decent hotel - Marriott and the Manhattan) was for $240 before taxes.  NY hotel rooms are very expensive and I'm not sure I would personally stay at a hotel room in the city that's less than $200 (it gets iffy).  A decent hotel will be on average about $240before taxes.  I would check travelzoo, groupon, or livingsocial for hotel rooms in your price range but a room block may not be possible.  In addition, room blocks in the city are mostly provided by big hotel chains so your options are limited (price will still be high).
  • I just saw another post suggesting the Thompson LES.  However, I'm not sure of their room rate and the area is not what I would suggest for out of towners since it's a bit off the beaten path (close to SOHO and what's left of Little Italy but far away from mid-town where most OOT wish to be).
  • Try the Hotel Indigo in Chelsea - since your wedding is the end of June, I think you are just outside their peak summer rates.  I think the Desmond Tutu Center offers reasonable good rates too - it is far west, but still a good neighborhood (Chelsea).

Try the hotels in chelsea - there are so many.
I have my blocks there. One rate is 169, one is 179 and another at 239.
We have them at the eventi hotel
    fairfield inn by marriott chelsea
    hilton gardens chelsea
there is a nice holiday inn in chelsea too.
    Just take a look,
I made a day of it and went to check out about 5-6 in the area and asked to see the rooms.

  • Are you getting married in Manhatten .. June is prom month & graduation time. You may want to look for stuff that's right out the city like Queens at Laguardia Airport or LIC Cab fair is cheaper then parking in the city Good luck
  • Thanks Everyone...Looking into it right now :)
  • The Hilton Garden Inn in Secaucus is really nice and also cheaper than the city.  There is a city bus the runs 24 hrs a day right out front and takes you to 42nd St Bus Depot....
