woah

I just realized I'm 4 months away from the wedding. Holy cow. I have todo lists broken down by month. Is there anything you ladies can add that's usually forgotten about until the last minute? I have to work the whole week before the wedding because one of the biggest tourbaments at the country club I'm at is the week before and i want to have everything set before that. Me and FI were able to get friday off tho.

  • My programs never got printed because I simply forgot. We went without them, it wasn't a big deal. If you forget something; it probably wasn't important, remove it from the to-do list and enjoy your day.

BTW - I'm so glad we didn't print the programs, the Priest that was going to perform our ceremony had an emergency so another Priest ended up marrying us. I would've felt so bad if the Priest's name was wrong.
  • Thanks guys this helos. My parents are being so so so awesome and helping eith the little things Ill probably comoletely forget about. The tough part is scheduling apt for wheb my mom is in town. She's only going to be here in may before the wedding so we are gonna take care of a lot in a couple months.

  • The cake topper I got was too big, and I forgot about finding a new one or having the florist do some flowers or something for it. All it had were the edible pearls on it, and I hated the way it looked. Also, I hated the whole look of the cake/cupcakes b/c I think there was too much yellow, and I didn't even think about it until it was too late. Blah. Here it is:

What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • We had our programs done quite a bit in advance b/c our church has pretty strict music rules and we set all the selections when we met with the music director several months in advance.  But like PP said the seating chart couldn't be finalized until that last week, so MOH and I were alphabetizing and folding escort cards (that, thankfully, my dad printed and cut for me) the day before.

I also forgot I wanted to do a song mash-up during our spotlight / forgot to tell our DJ about it; so no joke, MOH's BF downloaded the songs for me; cut them together, and emailed it to me the morning of.  Then I forgot the flashdrive so I emailed the file from H's phone to our DOC during the cocktail hour; she then went to her office across the street to get it on a flash drive to give to the DJ.

Mom and I were taping ribbons onto the unity candle the morning of.  Kinda forgot about that one.  we taped one too close to the top and the tape caught fire during the procession; whoops!

Ooo and honestly the biggest one that I couldn't have just said 'oh well' was I didn't type out the readings for our readers!  H and I picked them MONTHS before hand, but it wasn't until maybe 30 minutes before the rehearsal that I realized my readers weren't going to have anything to read off of.  I had H putting together our prayers to the faithful while I was typing up the scripture readings and had his BM proofread for me.

I think that was it.  But sincerely, believe it or not, none of those things phased me at all, haha. It's all about your attitude!
