Thank you note for a group gift

My church ministry group threw us an unexpected wedding party and gave us a gift. I think it's a group gift because the gift was rather a pricy one. I'd think they all chipped in for the gift or it was paid from the ministry budget and then one person went out to shop. When I opened the gift, some of the members definitely saw it for the first time. I'd like send a thank you note to each person because they all worked to throw this shower. The question is how do I word it about the gift? I'm only speculating about how it was paid for - I don't know for sure.

Re: Thank you note for a group gift

  • Since they didn't make a distinction about who paid for it, I'd write the thank you notes as if they all chipped in.  If it was from the ministry budget, that's still kind of the group's money that was spent.  "I love the _____!  It will be great for ______."

  • I would just write one note and maybe bring cookies or a treat to the next meeting.
