I like the face in #2, but the composition (if that's what you want to call it) in #1 is a little more interesting with him holding onto the blanket.

They're both adorable pics, but I think the composition of #1 works well with the composition of the announcement.

I like #1 as is. I think you should use #2 with a little comic bubble saying "Howudoin?" above his precious little face!

While I like the pic in #2 better because X looks very impish, I think #1 is more appropriate for the announcement, simply because it's a face on picture. 

Have you been to X's 2 week appt?  How's he doing?

ETA: I voted #1. I agree with Tide that it's a better announcement photo, due to his pose.

Ahhh, you all are so right! The composition does look way better in #1, I'm just a sucker for the face in #2, it makes it impossible for me to pick a favorite on my own.

Tide, we went to his 2 week apt today, he's gained back all the weight he lost after birth and then some, he's 10lbs 1oz now! He's doing awesome .

I voted #2 because I like the picture better.  Honestly, when I get a birth announcement I care very little about the layout, colors, or wording, and just go straight to the cute picture!

Tide, it's insane, he never fit into any of his newborn clothing, and nearly all his 0-3 month footed onsies are too short for him. I think he's going to live in sleep sacks until he can walk .

Good lord he's cute.  The face is #2 is so incredibly cute, but #1 just screams perfect birth announcement face, so that was my vote.

#1 for sure, though they are both ADORABLE!

You may be surprised and how much he grows throughout the first year. My younger daughter was 9 lb 7 oz when she was born, but barely 20 pounds at her first birthday. She has since caught back up and is the second tallest in her class (but the tallest child got held back twice).

WTH happened to my post.  Anyway. Like I said before theknot ate it:

We're having a similar problem.  Taryn grew 2 full inches between her 1 and 2 month appointments, but only gained .5 lb.  She's just now filling into her 0-3 clothes, but has to go into 3-6 sleepers to accomodate her length, and they swallow her.  Heck, she just went INTO size 1 diapers at 3 1/2 months.  She's long and lean.
