I just looked at the NHC website on Tomas. As of right now Jamaica is not expected to get a direct hit. It's still a little to soon to say, but must of the models have it going north towards the DR (with 1 or 2 coming back towards us - boo).
If it does go to the east of you that is good news, most of the bad winds and rain are on the northeast/east side of the storm. You will be on the west side which means maybe some rain, but the winds will not be hurricane force and maybe not even TS force winds.
As of right now I do not think you are in danger . Of course it can change so keep an eye out.
Good luck....

www.stormpulse.com... They have a GREAT interactive site on the hurricane. The hurricane center updates at 11am, 5pm, 11pm and 5am. They add 2am, 8am, 2pm and 8pm when it gets closer to land. Storm pulse shows you where the hurricane force and TS winds are epected.
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
