::Waves Hi::

Been kind-of MIA lately.  I have a few hour break and thought I would pop in and say hello.

Did everyone have a good Christmas?   Any NYE plans?

Re: ::Waves Hi::

  • Hi Lynda. I don't have any NYE plans. I might see if my cousin's kids want to come over and spend the night. My H has to be to work by 6AM on Jan. 1, so I'm certain he'lll go to sleep early.
  • Christmas was good.  My mom got me a stand mixer, and I'm super excited to use it.  We're having a few friends over for NYE.  Nothing crazy, just a bunch of champagne and food (and beer for H because he hates champagne).

I need more Chef D pictures please.

  • Oh yes, we request some Chef-D pics, please! He is such a cutie.
  •  Xmas was working a split shift starting at 7am ending at 8pm.  Then dinner with our OOT guests who arrived that day.

One set of friends left today, another (with their 6month old puppy) come tomorrow.    Not sure what is in store for NYE other than I have to work early NY day and we have OOT guests staying with us.

  • I was completely shocked when I unwrapped it, Rach.  I wasn't expecting it at all.  Mine is the ice color.  I keep petting it.  I'm so weird.

  • Hi. Christmas was good. We're having friends over for NYE. Nothing too exciting.
  • Let me see if I can download some.  He is getting so big.

Good highlights of his first week with us:

Knows the elevators.  He even knows before the bell which elevator is coming.
Knows how to sit and fetch
Great leash walker. Even stops at each curb and sits (does not stay yet)
    so-so on lie down
    likes his crate
so far no interest in people food
He is a total ham. Loves everyone.  When he sees someone coming  and he will almost stop so he can be pet.  If the person walks by he gets sad. A few times he will just sit on their feet and look up with a sad look like "aren't your going to pet me?"

    Bad(?)

potty training.  He pees/poos on the pads when we are not around.  He pees/poos outside.    But for some reason he still pees on the carpet when we are at home.  Maybe he is excited.   Considering he left his siblings and mom, us having house guests, I really can't complain.  I would say 90% of them are done correctly.

Biting - but he is getting better.

  • It's this one: link.

Sorry to take over your thread with talk of mixers, Lynda.  How early do you have to work on NY day?

  • Just keep in mind that most puppies are not capable of being reliably housebroken until a year of age... we as humans expect way too much too soon. Sounds like you've got a good grasp of things, though :)

Christmas was good here. NYE we're hosting a party (and tonight is my only night off, oye)... I'm ready to go crazy. Have to clean the whole house, get the spare cleaned out, go grocery shopping, do prep work... oye. That means I should get off TK.
  • I have to work a split shift.  7am until about 12:30-1 then from 4-8.  I'm also working until 8pm on NYE.

  • I have a mixer! I made mashed potatoes with it last night. I loooove it.
  • I love Chef-D!  He is so freaking cute!!  I hope that the potty training gets better.  At least he is okay with the crate.  Are you crating him when you leave him alone?  We never got around to crate training April.  But she pretty much just shuts down when we leave the house.  She goes into a corner and pouts.
  • I have this one in white:  http://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KV25GOXMC-Professional-5-Quart-Metallic/dp/B0001HLTTS/ref=sr_1_10?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1325187846&sr=1-10

I wish I had it in red. All of my kitchen accessories are red. Oh, well. I use it nearly every day, and it's not like it's baby-poop green or anything.
  • We crate him when we are gone and overnight.  He loves to nap on the couch when we are at home.  It's like a sleeping pill to him.

He whimpers when he goes in, but it's kind-of a fake "I'm going to make you feel bad, but really I'm just going to fall asleep" way, not that he is mad.

  • Mine is white. I wish it was black or stainless. Most of my stuff is black, but then some of my stuff is half black half stainless. It was a gift from work though and I am just happy to have one.
  • Lynda, please keep the cute doggie stories coming.

My dog has decided we aren't allowed to have bottom sheets or a mattress pad anymore. In the past four months, he's riped a giant hole in three sheets and ruined two mattress pads. He gets on the bed and tries to dig through the layers. Last night, I caught him (H left the bedroom door open) and yelled at him. I called him a furry little assmuncher and squirted him with a spray bottle.
  • Both DH and Chef D snore, breath loudly and are gassy.

    Sleeping is awesome... NOT

  • That's what April's pouting is like.  She just gets this dejected face and goes and stands in a corner.  But it's like it never happened once we come back home.

    Dogs are great like that!
