Need help with invites

Okay so I have the invitations printed up.  And they look just like the ones in my bio.  HOWEVER....I don't know how to put them together.  Pocketfolds are too expensive (and the invite is 5 x 7, so too big for most pocketfolds anyways).  Anybody have any ideas on what to do with this?

[QUOTE]Am I totally naive, or can't you just stack everything up and put it in the envelope? I'm not being snarky; I'm honestly curious. I figured that's just what people did.

Me too, hence my first reply. I didn't feel the need to complicate things.
  • Unfortunately, I'm not content with stacking things up and putting them in the envelope.  That's just me, I'd like something a little more fancy.  But I just don't know how to go about it.

  • Could you back the invitation with an accented color cardstock, punch a hole in the top, and run a small ribbon to tie the two pieces together?
Then take the same color ribbon with a monogram or graphic on it to attach the pieces?

This might be more complicated than it sounds or than it may be worth.

  • How about a wrap? Not ribbon, but a paper wrap? You could trim cardstock, patterned paper or handmade paper down to about 1.5 - 3 inches wide and put a cute embellishment on the seam, or do two layers like this one: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_utp0eWvzGWA/RwLZ9fIMJfI/AAAAAAAAABs/fw_XBdPYoAc/s320/PumpkinInvite.jpg

If you do a wrap, you can use it as your "inner envelope" -- just put the guests' names on a small card and adhere it to the wrap.

  • I think I'm just going to eat the cost and get a whole new set of Etsy. I just put them all together and realized none of the grays match.  I guess that's what you get when printing a background of gray onto white paper, but the color variations are noticible enough that it looks funny.
