You don't have to be an etiquette guru, and I'm definitely not (I'm here for the help!), to think that this woman is way wrong. I wonder if this is not MUD how she made it this far in life, and let us all take a moment to sympathize her husband.

Yea, there's no way that's real. "Hi! My name is Pepper. It's very nice to meet you. I'll be your new neighbor! I hope we can be really great friends soon. Hey...I have a great idea on how we can start the friendship, would you like to host a baby shower for me? OMG the link to her other post with the weird prophetic speech about her baby is HILARIOUS. This may be the best thing I've seen all day, and FFF has been great today.

making friends - Help wanted

For some reason I am not good at making friends. I consider myself a warm and kind woman with lots to share and profit as a friend.

I know it's super early in pregnancy, so I do have time to make some friends but I need to make some ASAP.

See, my husband and I recently moved. There is no family anywhere near and this place is completely socially foreign to us. Like I said, I know there is plenty of time but I've been thinking about my baby shower. I'm aware that it is rude to host your own shower, so I asked my neighbor to host it. Well, she was very harsh and basically told me to go eff myself. I asked very politely. She's a total b!tch for no reason.

Now if some poor sweet lady knocked on my door, and told me how she has no family and is foreign to the area, she needed someone to throw her a shower, I could do nothing less than oblige. How can someone be so rude to decline? I am also aware that there are unkind people in the world and obviously I met one of them.

I really felt I was nice and my wording in asking was spot on. Can any of you give me some advice or tips on how to make friends? I don't get what I am doing wrong
