I'm feeling a bit sad tonight.

My birthday is in a couple of weeks and I invited a few people to spend the day with me, and most of them have declined.

I know that there's better things to worry about, but it still feels pretty shitty.

Aw, that sucks.  I usually don't post here, but I came across your post and had to respond.  That's happened to me before and it does suck.  But at least those who spend the day with you will have a great time and everyone else will just miss out. Keep your head up!

Aw I'm sorry! Why did they decline? My two best friends don't even know when my birthday is (I don't like bringing my birthday up because I always feel like an aw about it) so we usually do something with my mom and H's mom and that's the extent of the celebration.

The majority of people didn't offer a reason.  My best friend will be out of town.  I guess I just feel down because *every* year this happens, except last year I didn't even bother trying doing anything - I just pigged out on a cake by myself.  Fun stuff. 

I just had to get it out, and sometimes an internet forum is the best place to let feelings like that out, you know?  My FI doesn't know what the big deal is.

I get the AW thing and I hate being like that too, but when my friends have bday parties (and I go obviously) I feel so envious that they have these big parties and have a blast, and I guess I would like one too sometime.  Oh well, that's enough of my whining... thanks for listening.

Aw I feel ya. My last birthday we had huge plans to do something (for the first time since my 21st). Then one by one friend's called that night to cancel. I ended up just going to a pool hall with Dh and my one friend who made it and had an absolute blast.

Happy birthday in a couple weeks
