Outdoor wedding, no aisle runner and a stained train?

Ok, I am not sure what to do with this situation, my daughter is getting married outdoors, and when we reserved the location, we were told no aisle runners, due to the fact that they bunch up on the grass. Well, of course the dress my daughter has selected has a pretty good length train on it. What do we do to avoid stains on it ? Bustle it while she walks in, and have the MOH release it and arrange it for the ceremony ?

Re: Outdoor wedding, no aisle runner and a stained train?

  • You could do like those old fashioned movies and have someone walk behind her holding it up then set it down when she gets to the end of the aisle.  Then she could hold it up herself as they walk back down.
  • I vote to let the train drag!  It'd be so pointless to have a beautiful train but only have it bustled up all the time!  I am going to have an outdoor ceremony as well and I love wedding gowns with a train so I am getting one, no matter what.  I was worried about it getting dirty, as well, but like other people said, it is expected to be dirty, but only on the underside.  It shouldn't be too bad unless the grass is muddy and wet, in which case, I'd have the ceremony indoors, anyway.  Then, after the wedding, take it to a cleaner to be cleaned! :)
