Why are some guys such f*ckheads?!

Ughh! I need to vent. Apparently my friend's bf (now ex) decided it was the right thing to do to grab her by the head and slam it off the refrigerator because she said he couldn't take her car since she needed it for work. What is wrong with people?! Guys like this need their balls ripped off!

  • Well thank goodness she is out of that relationship. She needs to press charges. Seriously, if nothing else but to show him that he can't get away with that shiit.

  • Wow. That's terrible. I hope she got the hell out of there.

  • I really hope she called the cops.
  • OMG that's awful! I hope she called the police!

  • The sad things is he's done stuff like push her around before and she always said she was done then went back because she has a baby with him. I really hope she realizes that he is not someone to have the baby around and that he would be better off not being around his father. As many times as we have told her I hope this is a wake up call.

The last time she left he showed up when it was just her, me, the baby, and one of our other friends. He decided to push her around with the baby in her arms and the cops didn't show up until my FI and his friend came to get him out of the house. Even when the cops showed up they made FI and his friend leave instead of my friend's bf. Cops are messed up around here...

  • If there is abuse going on, I would strongly urge you to keep a record of anything and everything you see. Date, time, location, and what. (I.E. May 4th, 2010, Noticed a bruise on her arm while at work. She said etc.etc.). If ever she decides to press charges, it would strengthen her case.

I have -- or, rather, had -- a friend like that.  The seventeenth time she reconciled with her abusive husband I told her that someone else would have to identify her body at the morgue; I was done.

I hope your friend is smarter than mine was.  :(

I hope so too! She is all set to move into a new apartment and her stuff is all packed so I think she is on the right track this time.

It's sad but the statistic is something like it takes the avg woman in an abusive relationship about 10 times to leave before she leaves for good.

She should speak with the local DV shelter if she is willing, to see what her options might be if she feels ready to keep him out of her life (order of protection, how to keep him away from her if they have a child together, etc).

It's hard with a child involved, but a child who witnesses DV is affected greatly by it, even the young ones.

Ps: Sorry to hear she is going through this, and you as well as it is always very tough to watch as a friend :/

Please urge her to seek help and remove herself and her child from that home, before you end up dealing with what I have been going through for the past 3 months.

One of my oldest friends was stabbed to death by the father of her 7-month old baby on January 2nd.  Her ex-boyfriend had never hit her before, but he would grab her arm, shake her, and kick their pets.  They broke up, she tried to file an EPO, but he convinced her to retract it.  When she started seeing someone else, her ex came over and murdered her, and attempted to murder her friend, then left the baby alone and took off.  I am still grieving for her and it haunts me every day that me and the rest of our friends didn't pressure her to go through with the EPO and to file a DVO, and change the locks on her house.  We had talked about it with her once, but then when she argued, we dropped it.

I'm sorry to be a downer, but I think this is really important.  Below is a link with all the compiled news stories about my friend- you should really read it.  Hopefully it convinces you to speak up as loudly and strongly as possible.

I am so sorry to hear about the difficult situation you are going through! It is hard to believe that there are people out there like this. Thank you for the link, I think it is something I need to share with her.
