I have a problem

Hi.  My name is Amber.  I am a registry stalker.  *hangs head in shame*

  • Eh, I was too.  No big deal in my opinion.

  • I'm a recovering one

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I totally stalked our registry all the time.  It made DH sooo mad.
  • Hi Amber - welcome to registry stalkers anonymous.  Please put your hands up and back away from the computer!!!

I admit I was a registry stalker and it disappointed me that everything that was bought of the registry were last minute additions that were "cool but not necessary" - we didn't get any of the functional stuff we wanted.  It made unwrapping presents not very fun.
  • I was too, before we pushed the wedding back. I'm back to stalking now though since I have a shower in about a month and Christmas time is here.

  • Plus I'm a horriblel liar - which makes the fake surprise, "OH COOL" face really hard for me.

Well that's kind of a given with any registry, whether you stalk it or not.  When you open something that you registered for, you're not necessarily suprised by it you know?

  • Stackeye, that bugs me when people buy cool stuff or whatever. Yeah, we might have registered for that cute mirror, but I really NEED the toaster. We are reworking the registry since we pushed the date back and I'm eliminating all the want stuff.

  • I'm actually excited about everything on our registry.  I thought to myself "ooo!  The sheets...and dish towels!  Wow." I'm also a super dork.

Very true.  But if you don't stalk at least you have more options of what it could be.  But if you stalk the registry then your guess on the presents is really easy.

I guess I'm just weird though - opening presents in front of a room full of people just makes me feel uneasy.
  • I was too, it's not a big deal.  You will be just as surprised to open it as you are to see it come off your registry.
  • I know I will be.  I still snoop for Christmas presents.
