Ladies, I came here because I knew I would get honest feedback, and I'm open to whatever suggestions you have regardless of whether its sugar coated or not. So, thanks in advance.
My Mother has never, ever, been financially stable. When my parents were married, they both worked, but my Mom spent EVERYTHING that wasn't already used on bills and whatnot. My Dad, although I can't stand the guy, worked every second of OT he could so that my Mom (and us) could have everything we wanted. Their divorce was final 10 years ago. My Mom, I feel, is still on the two-incomes/making over 100K high. She is retired, WITH a pension thank God, and works 40 hours a week for what she tells me is for "fun money."
I love a couple hours away, while my sister still lives within 15 minutes of my Mom so they still see each other a lot. My sister has been feeding me information about Mom's financial situation over the past 5-6 months. My sister is 22 years old and is barely making it while helping support her own family, mind you.
My Mom has been bumming money off of my sister for everything recently. Apparently it's so bad that she hadn't paid her WATER bill in almost 4 months. My sister had to pay it. And Mom's sneaky about getting her to pay for things, like her MOB dress. $270. Mom gets all the way up to the register and tries to open a store credit, gets DENIED, and looks at my sister and asks for $270...
My question is this: is this my business? Why or why not?
